More Examples

I took a sound clip from learn german CD and ran it through robot.m. However this time I added a stretch to the signal. In robot.m the mechanism for time stretching still exists so I experimented with doing both effects at once and got some nice results. To further manipulate the wave I exagerated the overlap and the windows. A 25% window overlap gives a nice ripple effect when compounded with the other parameters. By increasing the Hann window considerably a certain brightness in the sound is introduced.

waves:
Original Wave, man saying Excuse me Sir in German
with robot, 4096 Hann WIndow and 25% overlap
with robot, 4X stretch, 1024 Hann WIndow and 25% overlap
with robot, 4X stretch, 4096 Hann WIndow and 25% overlap
with robot, 6X stretch, 256 Hann WIndow and 25% overlap
with robot, 6X stretch, 8192 Hann WIndow and 25% overlap (my favorite)

Song

I was playing around with some of the example wave files in this report, added 2 new wave examples, and ran them through the phase vocoder to get various effects. I took these 5 originals and the FX versions and put together a simple quirky track using Albeton Live. No additional effects were performed on the wave files.

The Song:
Phase Box

The two new waves:
New Sound 1 (female saying 'm')
New Sound 2 (male saying 't')
